Dermal Fillers for Under Eye Rejuvenation

The TEOSYAL® Redensity 2 filler is used to treat the tear trough (under-eye) area. It is specifically designed to replace volume and improve the appearance of under-eye shadows and under-eye hollows. A complete tear trough correction will almost always require volume restoration of the upper cheek area that supports the under-eye area.

Learn More About Dermal Fillers

As we age, the quality of our collagen changes and our skin becomes less elastic, leading to wrinkles and sagging skin. Fillers mimic the lost volume in the skin, temporarily restoring the skin’s original structure. Fillers can also be used to add volume and fullness to areas that you would like to accentuate.

There are multiple kinds of dermal fillers that are each made up of different ingredients. Different dermal fillers are better for certain applications, so it is important to consult with an experienced injector who can select the best filler to achieve your aesthetic goals. Fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that is naturally produced by our bodies and can be found in the skin’s connective tissue. Hyaluronic acid works excellently to fill out facial wrinkles and add plush volume under the skin.

At Shine MD, we use fillers by Restylane®, Revanesse®, and TEOSYAL®.

At Shine MD, Dr. Mona Khurana will conduct a detailed consultation regarding your goals. Dr. Khurana is a skilled injector who will provide a thoughtful and realistic treatment plan. Her primary goal is to offer natural-looking enhancements to ensure a rested and rejuvenated appearance.

During your treatment, your skin will be cleaned and prepped. You will then receive a series of injections, which vary depending on your treatment area and desired results. You may feel minor pinching during the injections, but the treatment is very quick and easily tolerated.

Common treatment areas include the:

  • Temples
  • Tear troughs
  • Cheeks
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Chin
  • Jawline
  • Lips

There is minimal downtime associated with filler treatments. You can begin exercise the next day. Some patients may experience some minor bruising or swelling at the injection site. These side effects are temporary and usually subside within a few days of treatment.

The results from dermal fillers are immediate. You will be able to see a noticeable difference in the treated area(s) as soon as the injections are complete. Dermal fillers can add fullness to the lips, soften fine lines and wrinkles, enhance facial contours, add facial volume, and smooth the appearance of the skin.

The results from dermal fillers typically last between 6 and 18 months. The longevity of your results depends on the type of filler you receive, where the filler is placed, and how your individual body processes the filler. We recommend regular treatments if you wish to maintain your results.

Dermal fillers can be used on men and women of all ages. For more mature skin, filler can be used to restore lost volume and improve the appearance of wrinkles. For younger skin, filler is often used to plump the lips or add definition to the cheeks. Depending on your specific concerns, the experienced injector at Shine MD will recommend the filler best suited for you.

Dermal fillers are minimally invasive and suitable for all skin types, making them a great option for most people. Speak to a member of the team at Shine MD to find out if fillers are the right option for you.
