Shine MD is the culmination of Dr. Khurana’s educational journey and has been driven by her personal evolution as a woman, a mother, a physician, and a visionary.
Dr. Khurana is a board-certified physician with extensive training in family medicine, emergency medicine, dermatology, and lifestyle medicine. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology (UBC), a Doctor of Chiropractic (WSCC), and a Doctor of Medicine (UBC). She is certified in Family and Emergency Medicine through the College of Family Physicians of Canada and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology with Distinction from Cardiff University. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and a Certified Wellness Coach.
Throughout her career, Dr. Khurana has contributed to medical education through bedside teaching, clinical mentorship, and academic instruction. Her passion for advancing care has led her to become a respected speaker for global companies such as Galderma. Sun Pharma and Sciton, where she shares her expertise in treating skin of color, acne, and acne scarring. She is also an ambassador and speaker for Aerolase and a Key Opinion Leader for Cartessa Aesthetics.
As the founder of Shine MD, Dr. Khurana is committed to improving access to primary care dermatology for both patients and family physicians. Widely recognized as a trailblazer in the field, she has implemented an integrated, evidence-based approach to treating common skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and pigmentary disorders. Her dedication to advancing treatment protocols for patients with skin of color has positioned Shine MD as one of the first and only medical aesthetic and skin care practices in Canada to make an explicit commitment to treating skin of color.
