Shine MD is the culmination of Dr. Khurana’s educational journey and has been driven by her personal evolution as a woman, a mother, a physician and a visionary.
She is certified by the College of Family Physicians in both family medicine and emergency medicine and she holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology with Distinction from Cardiff University.
Her formal education consists of a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology and Immunology (UBC), a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree (WSCC), a Doctor of Medicine Degree (UBC) and a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine (CFPC). Over the years, she has participated in bedside teaching, clinical didactic teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents and colleagues. She holds a Diplomate in Lifestyle Medicine from the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. She has completed a Wellness Coaching Certification through the College of Executive Coaching.
Now as the founder of Shine MD, she is committed to improving access for patients and family physicians in the area of primary care dermatology. She has been described as a trailblazer, implementing an integrated approach to the treatment of common skin conditions such as acne, rosacea and pigmentary conditions. Dr. Khurana is dedicated to the advancing treatments and protocols as they relate to patients with skin of color, making Shine MD one of the first and only Canadian medical aesthetic and skin care practices to make an expressed commitment to skin of color.
Dr. Khurana is a speaker for global companies such as Galderma Pharmaceutical and is a distinguished luminary for Sciton, sharing results and protocols as they relate to the treatment of patients with skin of color, and those with acne and acne scarring. She is an ambassador and speaker for Aerolase.
Taking inspiration from mentors and from some of the leading aesthetic practices in the United States, Dr. Khurana has invested in a range of innovative and award winning technology to be able to offer a full spectrum of options that are inclusive of all skin types. By combining medical management with energy based treatments and skin care, she has led the team at Shine MD to be a leading provider of medical aesthetic treatments, delivering highly effective and efficient results in a safe and nurturing environment.
Since its inception in 2020, Dr. Khurana has consistently focused on clinical excellence, aiming to close the gap in accessibility for care, leading Shine MD to be amongst one of the most sought after destinations for skin care in Vancouver.
