When Can I Expect to See Results?

What Is the Procedure Like?
Quantum RF is performed by Dr. Khurana, who has extensive experience using AccuTite and related technologies. Here’s what to expect:
- Pre-treatment medications such as lorazepam (Ativan) and nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) are provided for comfort and relaxation.
- Local anesthesia (lidocaine) is injected into the treatment area.
- A small cannula is inserted to deliver RF energy beneath the skin.
- The procedure is typically well-tolerated, and patients remain comfortable and relaxed throughout.
- Procedure time is approximately 60 minutes, including patient preparation and delivery of anaesthesia
- If taking Ativan, plan to have someone drive you home.
Is There Any Downtime with Quantum RF?
Downtime varies by patient and treatment intensity, but here’s what you should expect:
- Social downtime: Allow for at least one week, especially if you’re sensitive to visible swelling or bruising.
- Swelling and bruising: Common, especially in areas with significant fluid infiltration (like the submental/chin area).
- Compression garment: Ideal for chin treatments—full-time for 2 days whenever possible, then nightly for 2 additional weeks. This will be provided.
- Post-treatment care: Avoid exercise for at least 5 days.
- Skin changes: Expect redness for 1–2 days and possibly some lingering swelling or bruising if combined with Morpheus8 Burst
These effects generally begin to resolve within a few days, though minor swelling and/or bruising may persist for a few weeks in some cases.

The treatment itself is not painful because the treatment area is injected with lidocaine. The injection of numbing can often create a warmth underneath your skin during the time of injection and settles quickly. During this time, you may use laughing gas to decrease the sensation and alleviate any anxiety you may be feeling.
A single Quantum RF treatment yields satisfying results. Two follow up sessions of Morpheus 8 are recommended one month apart following your initial Quantum RF session.
Minimal. You might have mild redness, swelling, or warmth for a few hours to a day. Most people return to their normal activities immediately.
As with any medical/aesthetic procedure, there are possible side effects: temporary redness, swelling, and mild tenderness. Rarely, there may be bruising or more long-lasting discomfort. Preexisting skin conditions or health issues can increase risk. In general, Quantum RF is considered safe when performed by an experienced practitioner.
Quantum RF may not be suitable for the following patients.
- Very loose skin that would require surgical treatment
- Cardiac pacemaker or defibrillator.
- Cochlear implants.
- Permanent implants in the area such as metal plates and screws, silicone implants.
- Current skin cancer in the area to be treated.
- Impaired immune system or on immunosuppressive medications.
- Poorly controlled diabetes or thyroid dysfunction.
- History of skin disorders, keloids or abnormal wound healing.
- History of bleeding coagulopathies.
- Any history of surgical procedure in the area in the last three months.
- If you are pregnant or nursing.
Yes. Quantum RF is most often combined with Morpheus8 Burst. Other skin treatments and lasers can improve skin pigmentation, redness and fine lines and wrinkles.
